UGC

The University Grants Commission (UGC) is the statutory body of the Government of India responsible for coordinating, determining, and maintaining standards of higher education in India. Established in 1956 under the UGC Act, it provides recognition to universities, disburses central funding, oversees academic standards, and promotes research and faculty development. UGC also enforces regulations for curriculum, grants for research projects, and guidelines for higher education institutions.
