The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is the apex drug law enforcement and intelligence agency of India, established in 1986 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. It operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. NCB is responsible for combating drug trafficking and the abuse of illegal substances by coordinating with state governments, central agencies, and international organizations. It also provides training, intelligence sharing, and technical support to various law enforcement bodies. The bureau is headquartered in New Delhi with zonal offices across major cities in India.
