Pay Scale for Assistant Lineman Jobs

A basic monthly pay of ₹19,900/- applies as per 7th CPC/Pay Matrix and report of the inhouse Committee.
The minimum admissible pay during the probation period or the extended probation period (whichever is more) will be as per Department of Finance (Finance Personnel 1 Branch) Chandigarh, letter number 7/42/2020-5FP1/741-746, Chandigarh dated 17.07.2020 . It will not include any grade pay, DA, annual increment, or any other allowance except travelling or medical reimbursement (if entitled).

Eligibility Criteria - Qualification

Matriculation or equivalent certificate.
National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in Lineman Trade. Candidates must have passed upto the last date of application submission.
Matriculation-level knowledge or qualification of Punjabi language.

Age Limit for Assistant Lineman Jobs

Candidates must be at least 18 years and not more than 37 years as on 01 January 2026. Relaxations in age limit will be applicable as per the instructions of the Government of Punjab. Notes on Examination Pattern

Candidates must score at least 50% in Part 1 to be considered in the final merit list for document verification.
Part 2 will be in English and Punjabi; however, Punjabi language questions will be only in Punjabi.
All correct answers carry 1 mark each, and there is no negative marking for wrong answers.
The MCQ exam will be for 3 hours (180 minutes). Tentative syllabus will be published on the official website soon.
Minimum qualification mark in Part 2 for general category candidates is 25%, and 20% for reserve category candidates.
Normalization applies if the examination happens in multiple shifts. Each shift will have a different question paper.
The merit list in Part 2 will be determined by the age of candidates if two or more candidates score the same marks. A candidate with the higher age will be placed higher on the merit list.

PSPCL Assistant Lineman Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

1Fill and submit the application form. This includes fee payment with the final status as "Paid."
2Check the first admit card which will be uploaded at least 7 days before the exam. It will have all the particulars of the candidates except test center.
3Check the final admit card which will be uploaded at least 3 days before the exam. It will have details about the center.
4Qualified candidates will move to document verification. Candidates working in Government or Sei-Government or Cooperative organizations must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) after resigning and before joining PSPCL.
5The offer of appointment will be issued by the appointing authority. Candidates must join within 21 days. Appointment will stand cancelled if the candidate fails to join within the stipulated time.
