Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), operating under the Ministry of Coal, Government of India. Established in 1985, NCL is headquartered in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh. The company operates ten highly mechanized open-cast coal mines in the Singrauli coalfield, which spans parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. NCL is a significant contributor to India's coal production, supplying a substantial portion of its output to power plants across the country.
