The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) is a central government ministry responsible for planning, promoting, coordinating, and overseeing environmental and forestry programmes in India. It formulates national policies, legislation, and regulations for the conservation of natural resources, protection of the environment, and sustainable development. The ministry also implements and monitors various biodiversity, climate change mitigation, pollution control, and afforestation initiatives through its departments and subordinate bodies.
