MoEFCC Consultant Recruitment 2026 Introduction
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has invited applications for MoEFCC Consultant Recruitment 2026 for filling 05 contractual posts under Sustainable Coastal Management Division (SCMD). The appointments are part of the central government's National Coastal Mission 2.0, which aims to protect the coastal ecosystem, support marine biodiversity, manage shorelines, conserve coral reefs, build resilience against climate change and plan and coordinate coastal activities. This notice is for both technical environmental professionals and experienced coordination/documentation candidates as it contains three Scientific Consultant jobs and two Non-Scientific consultant jobs. Selected candidates will be appointed on a contract basis in New Delhi and will get consolidated monthly remuneration ranging from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,75,000 depending on the post. MoEFCC Recruitment: Selection Process

Desirable Qualifications and Additional Eligibility Conditions
- Scientific Consultant Grade-IV: Preference will be given to candidates who have PhD / M.Sc.Phil / M.Excellent background in coastal and marine environmental projects, holding either a Tech or MSc degree.
- Candidates with PhD / M. degree will be given preference for Scientific Consultant Grade-II.Phil / M.MSc GeoInformatics and Geospatial Science & Technology, Remote Sensing & GIS.
- Scientific Consultant Grade-I: Preference will be given to candidates who have a PhD / M.Phil / M.BSc in relevant areas (Tech) / MSc in relevant areas.
- Computer Knowledge: Good Knowledge of MS Office & Computer handling skills.
- Policy Understanding: The candidates should have an understanding of the policy framework of Central Government and State Government in the field of coastal, marine and environmental management.
- International Conventions: familiarity with international conventions and treaties relating to coastal and marine ecosystems will be helpful.
- Coordination Ability: The candidates should be able to coordinate multi-institutional and multi-disciplinary projects particularly with the Government and Technical Bodies.
- Research Preference: For shortlisting, research experience, published papers and strong post-qualification field experience might be considered a preference.
- PhD Experience Benefit: Duration of PhD period up to 3 years may be claimed as experience, the same number of years cannot be claimed as regular work experience.
- Qualified MoEFCC Consultants: Consultants who are already working in MoEFCC may apply for a higher consultancy position if they meet the prescribed eligibility requirements for the higher consultancy position.

- The recruitment is purely contractual and does not give rise to a right to permanent appointment.

Tenure of Engagement
