UKSSSC AAO Recruitment 2026 | 90 Vacancies

The Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has released a new recruitment notification (Advt No. 77/2026) for the recruitment to the post of Agriculture Professional through direct recruitment on a regular basis. The drive is being organised to fill 90 vacant posts of Group ‘C’ Uttarakhand govt jobs, i.e. Assistant Agriculture Officer jobs (AAO) Grade-1, AAO Grade-3 and Forage Assistant Group-3 posts. This is a good opportunity for the candidates having B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Agriculture to get a stable, well-paying career in Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Departments of Uttarakhand. Online registration starts on 1st June 2026. The tentative date of the written exam is 26th July 2026.

- Assistant Agriculture Officer Grade-1: Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture (M.Sc. Ag.) of a legally established university or institution in India. - Assistant Agriculture Officer Grade-3: Graduate Degree in Agriculture (B.Sc. Ag.) in any recognised University/Institution. - Group-3: Forage Assistant. B.Sc. (Agriculture). Candidates should have a working knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari Script. Preferential Qualification :- In case two candidates score equal marks, preference will be given to the candidate, who has served in the Territorial Army for minimum 2 years, or has an NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate.

- Minimum Age: 21 years - Maximum Age: 42 years (The candidate must be born between July 02, 1984, and July 01, 2005). - Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxation is applicable as per state rules—5 years for SC, ST, OBC, and Dependents of Freedom Fighters (DFF) of Uttarakhand, and 10 years for PwD candidates.

A candidate shall have to satisfy any one of the following conditions to apply for the Group ‘C’ posts in the UKSSSC Assistant Agriculture Officer notification 2026: 1. Registered with any Employment Exchange in Uttarakhand. 2. Must have a Permanent/Domicile Certificate of Uttarakhand. 3. Should have passed High School (10th) and Intermediate (12th) or its equivalent education from recognised institutions situated within Uttarakhand.

The syllabus has been well divided into different technical modules covering important topics in agriculture. Unit 1: Agronomy & Crop Production - Fundamentals: Definition, scope, and classification of field crops. - Crop Management: Principles of tillage, seed sewing, and water/nutrient management. Rainfed and dryland agriculture mechanics. - Systems: Intercropping, mixed cropping, and crop rotation patterns. - Core Crops: Cultivation practices (including seed rates, varieties, harvesting, and yield) for key cereals (Wheat, Barley), oilseeds (Mustard, Sunflower), pulses (Chickpea, Lentil), and cash crops like Sugarcane and Potato. Unit 2: Soil Science & Irrigation Management - Soil Properties: Origin, classification, and physical/chemical properties of soils (loam, silt, clay, sandy loam). Soil fertility, productivity, and handling problematic soils. - Nutrient Management: Organic manures (FYM, green manure) and chemical fertilizers (NPK dynamics). - Irrigation Systems: Water requirements of crops, drainage management, and modern application systems (flooding, sprinkler, and drip irrigation). Unit 3: Horticulture (Vegetables & Fruits) - Production Technology: Cultivation of major vegetable groups (solanaceous crops like Tomato and Brinjal, root crops, cucurbits) and fruit varieties suited to hilly and plain terrains. - Plant Propagation: Pruning, training systems, greenhouse/polyhouse cultivation, post-harvest processing, and physiological disorders (fruit drop, unfruitfulness). Unit 4: Plant Protection (Entomology & Pathology) - Pest Control: Identification of major crop insect-pests, their life cycles, and damage habits. - Disease Management: Fungal, bacterial, and viral crop diseases. - Chemical Safety: Classification and usage of pesticides/fungicides along with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies. Unit 5: Genetics, Plant Breeding & Seed Technology - Genetics Basics: Mendel's laws of inheritance, cell division (mitosis/meiosis), mutations, and linkage groups. - Breeding Methodologies: Mechanisms of pollination, mass selection, hybrid production, and crop improvement strategies. - Seed Testing: Seed purity, testing, health certification parameters, and seed storage guidelines. Unit 6: Livestock Management & Dairy Science - Animal Husbandry: Key breeds of cows, buffaloes, sheep, goats, and poultry. Proper care of livestock, rations, feeding standards, and common livestock diseases. - Dairy Industry: Physical and chemical composition of milk, clean milk production processing, milk adulteration checks, and common dairy products. Unit 7: Agricultural Economics & Extension Education - Economics: Basic economic laws (demand, returns), factors of production, agricultural marketing systems, structural pricing, and government subsidies. - Extension: Rural development programs, extension teaching methods, and communication frameworks designed for transferring technology to farmers.
