The Rajasthan Staff Selection Board has issued Advertisement No. 08/2026 for the Rajasthan CET Senior Secondary Level 2026, and the online application window runs from 24 June to 23 July 2026. If you have passed (or are appearing in) Class 12th, this single Rajasthan CET 12th Level test is your entry ticket to 14 different Group C jobs Rajasthan candidates chase every year—from Constable and Forester to Junior Assistant and Clerk Grade-II. CET is only an eligibility test, not a direct recruitment. Clearing it does not hand you a posting. It puts your name in the list from which each department later runs its selection. The good news this cycle is that the score now stays valid for three years, so one good attempt can feed several recruitments without sitting the exam again.

RSSB CET Secondary Selection Process for Group C Recruitment 2026
- 1CET Exam: A single offline OMR paper. You must score the qualifying minimum to stay in the race.
- 2Departmental Selection: Each recruiting department later shortlists from CET-qualified candidates and runs its own written test and interview as per its service rules.
Rajasthan CET Exam Pattern & Syllabus for Senior Secondary Level 2026
The whole CET is a single objective paper. No sectional cut-offs, no separate papers—everything sits in one question booklet: 1. Questions: 120 multiple-choice questions 2. Total Marks: 240 (each question carries 2 marks) 3. Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes 4. Negative Marking: one-third (1/3) of the question's marks for every wrong answer—about 0.66 marks per mistakes 5. Fifth option rule: each question has five bubbles (A-E). If you skip a question, you must darken option E. Leave more than 10% of questions with no bubble darkened and you are disqualified—a trap that catches careless candidates every year. Syllabus at a Glance: A single paper drawn from all of these areas, all carrying equal weight: 1. History of Rajasthan; Art & Culture of Rajasthan 2. Geography of India; Geography of rajasthan 3. Indian Polity (with special reference to Rajasthan); Economy of rajasthan 4. Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning & mathematics 5. Current Affairs, Public Health, Computer Knowledge 6. General Hindi and General English
In-Hand Salary for Group C Jobs Rajasthan
Salary depends on which of the 14 posts you finally land, but most of them—every Junior Assistant and Clerk Grade II role—sit at Pay Matrix Level 5 under the Rajasthan 7th Pay Commission. Here is the realistic picture rather than the inflated "gross" number portals love to headline: - Basic Pay (Level 5 entry): around Rs. 20,800 (some sources quote the Rs. 29,200 cell; the entry basic for fresh clerical recruits is the lower figure) - During the 2-year probation, Rajasthan pays a fixed/consolidated amount with limited DA and HRA, so early take-home is lower - commonly Rs. 23,000-Rs. 26,000 a month - After confirmation: with full DA, HRA (city-class dependent), and TA, gross runs roughly Rs. 35,000-Rs. 42,000 Net in-hand (post-probation): about Rs. 31,000-Rs. 38,000 after NPS/GPF, RGHS, and tax deductions
How To Prepare: Where the marks Actually Sit
- Lead with Rajasthan GK: history, art & culture, geography, polity, economy-this is where the bulk of the paper lives and where toppers separate themselves.
- Lock in the scoring sections: mathematics & Reasoning and Computer Knowledge are formula- and rule-based-near-certain marks with practice, and they cushion the unpredictable GK.
- Keep current affairs current: focus on the last 8-12 months, Rajasthan-first, then national
- Respect the negative marking: at 1/3 per answer, blind guessing bleeds your score. Mark E honestly on questions you genuinely can't attempt.
Common Used Books & Resources
Aspirants who clear this exam usually lean on a small, consistent set rather than a pile of books: - A standard Rajasthan GK / Adhyayan title (e.g., the widely used lakshya, Utkarsh or Moomal Rajasthan GK guides) - Lucent's General Knowledge for the Indian-level static portion - A dedicated Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude practice book (R.S. Aggarwal is the usual pick) - A monthly current-affairs magazine or PDF with a Rajasthan focus - Previous tear CET papers and full-length mock tests—the single highest-return habit before exam day
Rajasthan CET Application Fee for 12th Level
The fee is collected once as an OTR (One Time Registration) charge through the SSO Portal—pay it once and you are set for future RSSB forms too: - General / Creamy-layer OBC & MBC: Rs. 600 - Rajasthan Non-creamy OBC/MBC/EWS/SC/ST: Rs. 400 - All PwD candidates: Rs. 400 Two things to know: candidates from other states fall into the General slap (Rs. 600), and anyone who has already paid OTR earlier does not pay again. Miss two exams in a financial year, and your OTR can be blacked, with a Rs. 750 / Rs. 1,500 penalty to reactivate.
