RPSC 1st Grade Special Teacher Recruitment 2026 Introduction
Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has released the notification for 1st Grade School Lecturer (Special Education) 2026 recruitment. The recruitment drive is for 121 posts in various subjects such as Hindi, English, History and Political Science in the Secondary Education Department of Rajasthan. Candidates who have a postgraduate degree and B.Ed. in Special Education can apply online for RPSC teaching jobs from the official RPSC and SSO Rajasthan portals from June 1, 2026. This notification is a big opportunity for teaching aspirants who want a permanent government job in the special education sector in Rajasthan. The online application window will remain open until 30 June 2026. Selection will be through a competitive written test comprising two papers to test general awareness, subject knowledge and specialised pedagogy. Salary for RPSC recruitment 2026
According to the guidelines of 7th Pay Commission, the salary of RPSC 1st Grade Teacher / School Lecturer (Special Education) in Rajasthan is as follows. The post is in Pay Matrix Level L-12 with Grade Pay Rs. 4,800. Phase 1: The 2 Year Probation Period In Rajasthan, all newly recruited state government employees are treated as ‘Probationer Trainees’ for the first two years. During this period they are paid a fixed flat monthly remuneration without any other allowances (like DA or HRA). Fixed Monthly Remuneration: Rs. 31,100 Mandatory Deduction (GPF / State Insurance) : ~Rs. 2,000-Rs. 3,100 Approx. Monthly Net In-Hand Salary : Rs 28,000-29,100 Structural Breakdown of Core Salary: Basic Pay at Entry (Level-12): Rs. 44,300 Grade Pay: Rs 4800 Dearness Allowance (DA): It is reviewed periodically by the state government based on prevailing rates (currently around 50% to 58% of the basic pay). Paper-Wise Marking & Subject Distribution
Paper-I: General Studies (150 Marks) This paper tests core general knowledge, logical reasoning and basic language skills. Indian History with special reference to Indian National Movement and Rajasthan History Mental Ability Test: Statistics & Mathematics (Secondary Level), Language Ability Test (Hindi & English) Current Affairs (Local, National, and International importance) General Science, Indian Polity, and Geography of Rajasthan Educational Psychology & Educational Management: Educational Scenario in Rajasthan, and the Right to Free and Compulsory Child Education Act (RTE), 2009. Paper II: Concerned Subject + Special Education Pedagogy (300 Marks) This paper is designed especially to test your knowledge of your postgraduate subject and to test your knowledge of teaching students with special needs. Concerned Subject Matter: Knowledge of your chosen post-graduate subject (Hindi, English, History, Political Science, Sociology, or Music) mapping across Senior Secondary and Graduation standards. (~150 Marks) Special Education & Specialized Pedagogy: Agencies, policies, acts, and rules for specially-abled persons; unique Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs); use of IT in teaching; and psychological frameworks to educate children with various disabilities. (~150 Marks)
Crucial Exam Rules & Negative Marking
Negative Marking : Wrong answer will be deducted negative marking. 1/3 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Minimum Qualifying Marks: Candidate has to secure minimum 40% Marks in each paper to qualify. Relaxation of 5% (i.e. minimum 35%) is available for candidates belonging to SC and ST category. There will be 5 options for each question (OMR Mandate: The 5th Option Rule). If you do not want to answer a question, darken the 5th circle (Option E) to show that you are leaving it blank. Any question left blank (not filling in any of the 5 circles) for more than 10% of the total questions will be immediately disqualified.
Paper I: General Awareness & General Studies (150 Marks)
1. History of Rajasthan & Indian History Focus on Indian National Movement: Rise of Nationalist Movement, prominent leaders (V.D. Savarkar, Bankim Chandra, Lal-Bal-Pal, Bhagat Singh, Subhash Chandra Bose), Social and Religious Renaissance (Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Dayanand Saraswati, Vivekanand), and Mahatma Gandhi's role. History of Rajasthan: Rajput society, polity, and culture (7th to 12th centuries); Freedom struggle of 1857 in Rajasthan; Peasant and Tribal movements; Prajamandal movements and the integration of Rajasthan. Cultural History: Development of Art, Science, Literature, and Architecture during the Mughal Period; Shivaji and Maratha Swaraj; Bhakti Movement. 2. Mental Ability, Mathematics & Language Tests Mental Ability Test: Analogy, coding-decoding, series completion, blood relations, logical Venn diagrams, mathematical operations, data interpretation, and data sufficiency. Statistics & Mathematics (Secondary Level): Collection, presentation, and graphical representation of data; measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode). Number systems, rational/irrational numbers, polynomials, and linear equations in two variables. Mensuration: Surface area and volume of cubes, cuboids, cylinders, cones, and spheres; conversion of solids. General Hindi: संधि और संधि विच्छेद, उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, विलोम शब्द, अनेकार्थक शब्द, शब्द-शुद्धि, वाक्य-शुद्धि, पारिभाषिक शब्दावली (administrative terms). General English: Tenses/Sequence of tenses, Voice (Active/Passive), Narration (Direct/Indirect), Articles, Determiners, Prepositions, Antonyms/Synonyms, sentence correction, and confusable words. 3. Current Affairs Census of India and Rajasthan 2011. Current development and welfare programmes in India with special reference to Rajasthan (Skill development, Women Empowerment, Renewable Energy, Health & Hygiene schemes). Contemporary events in Science & Technology, Space programs, Atomic Energy programs.National & International awards, latest books/authors, and Sports/Games. 4. General Science, Indian Polity & Geography of Rajasthan General Science: Basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; environmental protection, biodiversity, and sustainable development. Indian Polity: Constitution of India, silent features, fundamental rights, Directive Principles, President, Prime Minister & Cabinet, Parliament, Speaker, and Supreme Court organization. Geography of Rajasthan: Location, extent, physical features, climate, drainage, natural vegetation, agriculture, livestock, minerals, industries, population, and tourism. 5. Educational Management & Psychology Concept, scope, and functions of Educational Psychology. Paper II: Concerned Subject & Special Education (300 Marks)
This paper evaluates domain-specific core mastery and comprehensive pedagogy for teaching children with special needs. Part A: Concerned Subject Knowledge (150 Marks) In this section you will find topics matched to the following Senior Secondary, Graduation and Post-Graduation standards applicable to your chosen specialised subject stream: Streams available: Hindi, English, History, Political Science, Sociology or Music Format: Focuses on core conceptual clarity, theories, literature or historical frameworks relevant to your post-graduate qualification. Part B: Special Education & Pedagogy (150 Marks) Policies & Frameworks: legislations, national policies, rules and international frameworks governing the rehabilitation, rights and education of specially-abled persons in India (e.g. RwP Act 2016, RCI guidelines). Nature of Sensory & Learning Disabilities Classification, Characteristics, Identification Tools and Early Intervention Strategies for Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, Learning Disability, Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Locomotor/Multiple Disabilities. Special Teaching Methodologies: Inclusive Education models, Curriculum modifications, Classroom accommodations and development of accessible Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs). Educational Technology: The use of assistive technologies, computers and other specialised information communication technologies (ICT) to support instruction for students with various disabilities.

- 1Go to the official portal: sso.rajasthan.gov.in. Log in with your credentials. If you are a new user, click "Registration" and sign up using your Jan Aadhaar (recommended for Rajasthan residents) or your Google Account.
