Selection Process for ONGC Graduate Trainee Recruitment 2026
- 1Candidates will register and apply online for one Academic/Engineering stream as per their qualifications; if more than one application is registered, only the latest application will be considered.
- 2Candidates who are eligible will have to take the Computer-Based Test (Objective Type Paper) of 85 questions in the concerned domain, General Awareness, aptitude, and English Language for 2 hours with no negative marking.
- 3CBT scores will be used to shortlist candidates for Personal Interviews in the ratio of 1:5 per category. In case there are multiple candidates with the same score at the cut-off rank, all of them will be shortlisted, even beyond the said ratio.
- 4The shortlisting of candidates for Group Discussion is not an End in itself, and Group Discussion is not a Group Discussion of a qualifying nature.
- 5The candidates have to qualify for both CBT and the interview separately (45% for General/EWS/OBC and 40% for SC/ST/PwBD in the interview) to be in the race.
- 6The final merit list is prepared category-wise and stream-wise out of 100 marks, comparing 85 marks of CBT and 15 marks of Interview.

Pay Scale and Benefits of ONGC Advertisement No. 2/2026 (R&P)
The E1 level carries a Basic Pay Scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 per month, with an annual increment of 3%.
