Educational Qualification – Diploma ApprenticeDiploma Pass Certificate in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education / University / recognized Institute in the respective discipline (Full-Time/Regular mode only). Diploma must have been passed within 5 years of 30/06/2026.
Educational Qualification – Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering)Graduate Degree in non-engineering/general streams (BA, B.Sc., B.Com., etc.) including sandwich courses granted by a College/University recognized by AICTE/UGC/State Government/Central Government (Full-Time/Regular mode only). Degree must have been passed within 5 years of 30/06/2026.
Prior ApprenticeshipCandidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act-1961 anywhere (Govt./PSU/Private) are NOT eligible.
CGPA ConversionCandidates awarded CGPA/GPA/SGPA or letter grades must produce authenticated conversion formula from their Institute/University. If no formula is available, NPCIL's standard conversion table will be applied (e.g., 6.5/10 = 60%, 7.0/10 = 65%).
Aadhar CardCompulsory. Aadhaar must be linked with candidate's bank account.
Police VerificationMandatory - MAPS Kalpakkam is a highly prohibited area. Apprentices will be engaged only after submission of Police Verification Certificate issued by District Police Authorities.
Physical FitnessCandidate must be free from contagious/infectious disease, Tuberculosis (any form), and any disease likely to be aggravated by apprenticeship. Minimum: Height 137 cm, Weight 25.4 kg, Chest Expansion 3.8 cm. Final engagement is subject to medical fitness declaration by Competent Authority.

Selection Process for NPCIL Apprentice Jobs 2026

  1. 1Stage 1 - Merit-Based Shortlisting Stage 1 will shortlist candidates based on merit. This merit-based shortlisting will be based on selection, local preference, and tie-breaking rules 1 & 2. Check out how stage 1 will shortlist candidates in the table below.
  2. 2Stage 2 - Document Verification Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification. All the original and self-attested documents must be produced at this stage. False documents and information will result in the rejection of candidature.
  3. 3Stage 3 - Medical Examination Appointment will only be confirmed after being declared medically fit as per the NPCIL's requirements. Minimum physical standards: Height - 137cm, Weight - 25.4 kg, Chest expansion - 3.8 cm. Candidate must be free from Tuberculosis, contagious diseases, or any disability that interferes with the apprenticeship.
  4. 4Stage 4 - Police Verification All selected candidates must submit a Police Verification certificate issued by the concerned District Police Authority before commencement of the training.
