ICAI Branch In-Charge Recruitment 2026 is open, and it is one of the few direct hiring drives the institute runs for its field offices. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has issued Advertisement No. 01/2026/HRA/BHRS/07 to fill 129 Branch In-Charge posts across its Regional Council under the Branch Human Resource Scheme 2022. Any graduate aged 27 to 40 with a few years of full-time work experience can apply online at icai.org between 3 July and 19 July 2026. For a graduate-level role, the pay is usually competitive, going up to Rs. 7.45 lakh a year in the top branch category.

Two things stand out. First, CIRC leads with 42 posts, more than a fifth of the total and almost six times EIRC's seven, so if you are flexible on location, the central region gives you the widest field. Second, and more useful, Categories V and VI together account for 99 of the 129 posts, roughly three out of every four openings. Those smaller branches require only three years of post-qualification experience, which makes this recruitment far more accessible to candidates in their late twenties than the headline five-year recruitment suggests. ICAI ran a similar drive under the same BHRS 2022 scheme back in 2024, which covered Branch In-Charge along with Branch Surpervisor and support staff. This 2026 cycle is for Branch In-Charge only, with a clear 129-post spread and a structured CBT, which points to a more standardized and transparent selection process than earlier documentation, so the structure works in your favor.

Compensation is fixed by branch category and is genuinely strong for a graduate role. The figures below are the approximate annual package (CTC), which bundles Basic Pay, DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and NPS, along with Leave Travel Concession, Gratuity and other service benefits: - Category I: Rs. 7.45 lakh per annum (about Rs. 62,000 a month CTC), 5 years' experience. - Category II: Rs. 6.33 lakh per annum (about Rs. 52,700 a month CTC), 5 years' experience. - Category III: Rs. 5.59 lakh per annum (about Rs. 46,600 a month CTC), 5 years' experience. - Category IV: Rs. 4.84 lakh per annum (about Rs. 40,300 a month CTC), 3 years' experience. - Category V and VI: Rs. 4.10 lakh per annum (about Rs. 34,200 a month CTC), 3 years' experience. The in-hand figure is lower than the CTC because the package already counts the employer's NOS share and other provisions. After the employee NPS contribution and income tax, a realistic take-home works out to roughly Rs. 48,000 to Rs. 52,000 a month in Category I, tapering to about Rs. 28,000 to Rs. 31,000 in Categories V and VI. HRA and the exact split vary with posting.

The 425-mark paper is built from six modules. Knowing where the marks sit is half the preparation: - English Comprehension: 25 questions, 100 marks, the single largest block. - MS Excel: 20 questions, 80 marks (intermediate level). - Basic Accounting: 30 questions, 75 marks - MS Word: 18 questions, 72 marks (intermediate level). - E-mail writing: 2 questions, 50 marks (descriptive). - General Awareness: 12 questions, 48 marks. That adds up to 107 questions and 425 marks.

The application fee is a flat Rs. 250, inclusive of all taxes and non-refundable, payable online through the portal. Your form counts as complete only after the fee is paid successfully, so an unpaid application is not a valid one.
