The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is a premier cancer treatment and research institution in India, established on February 28, 1941, by the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust. It encompasses several units, including the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH) in Parel and the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) in Navi Mumbai. The center has pioneered numerous advancements in oncology, such as introducing India's first linear accelerator for radiation therapy in 1978 and the first proton therapy unit in a government setup in 2023.
