

National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. Established on 7th January 1981, with its registered office in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, NALCO is one of the largest integrated Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminium-Power complexes in India. The company operates a 68.25 lakh TPA Bauxite Mine and a 21.00 lakh TPA Alumina Refinery at Damanjodi in Koraput district, and a 4.60 lakh TPA Aluminium Smelter along with a 1200 MW Captive Power Plant at Angul, Odisha. NALCO has regional sales offices in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore, and operates multiple stockyards across the country to facilitate domestic marketing. The company is recognized as the lowest-cost producer of metallurgical grade alumina and bauxite in the world, as per Wood Mackenzie reports. NALCO is also a significant exporter, with export earnings accounting for a substantial portion of its turnover.
