Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) is a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Maharashtra, established to implement the Mumbai Metro Line-3 (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ), also known as the Aqua Line. This 33.5 km fully underground corridor aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Mumbai by providing a modern, efficient, and sustainable mass rapid transit system. The line comprises 27 stations and is designed to connect key business districts, educational institutions, and the international airport, thereby enhancing urban mobility. MMRCL employs advanced technologies, including platform screen doors and Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling, to ensure passenger safety and operational efficiency. The project is partially operational, with the Bandra Kurla Complex to Aarey section inaugurated on October 5, 2024.
