The Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) is a central government ministry in India formed in 2019 by merging the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation and the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. It is responsible for the planning, development, and management of water resources, river basin management, irrigation, flood control, drinking water supply, and sanitation. The ministry oversees flagship programs like the Jal Jeevan Mission, Atal Bhujal Yojana, and Namami Gange, aiming to ensure sustainable water supply and sanitation across the country.
