The Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Rural Industrialization (MGIRI), located in Wardha, Maharashtra, is an autonomous national institute established under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India. Inspired by the Gandhian vision of self-reliant villages, MGIRI works to promote rural industrialization through research, technology development, training, and extension services. The institute focuses on areas such as khadi and textiles, bio-processing, rural energy, agro-based industries, and sustainable technologies.
