The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) is a premier national professional body in India established under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980. Operating under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, ICSI is the sole recognized organization responsible for developing and regulating the profession of Company Secretaries in India. Headquartered in New Delhi, the institute has four regional offices in New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai, along with 73 chapters across the country. ICSI offers a structured Company Secretary (CS) course comprising three levels: the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET), Executive Programme, and Professional Programme. In addition to examinations, candidates must complete prescribed practical training to qualify for membership. Members of ICSI play a pivotal role in ensuring legal compliance, corporate governance, and ethical business practices within organizations. The institute also engages in policy advocacy, conducts research, and organizes various programs to promote investor education and corporate responsibility.
