ICFRE

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India. Established in 1986 and headquartered in Dehradun, ICFRE is the apex body for coordinating, guiding, and managing research and education in forestry. It operates a network of regional research institutes and centers focused on forest management, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable forestry. ICFRE supports capacity building, policy advice, and the dissemination of scientific knowledge to help conserve forests and enhance forest-based livelihoods.
