The Government of Maharashtra is the governing authority of the state of Maharashtra, India. It consists of the executive branch (headed by the Governor and the Chief Minister), a bicameral legislature (Vidhan Sabha and Vidhan Parishad), and the judiciary. The government is responsible for policy-making and administration in sectors like education, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, industry, infrastructure, and law and order. Through its various departments and agencies, the Government of Maharashtra implements welfare programs and drives economic and social development in the state.
