Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) is a premier Indian shipbuilding company located in Kolkata, West Bengal. Established in 1884 and nationalized in 1960, GRSE operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The company specializes in the design and construction of a wide range of vessels, including frigates, corvettes, patrol vessels, landing ships, and survey vessels for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. GRSE has also exported warships to friendly foreign nations, such as Mauritius and Seychelles. In addition to shipbuilding, GRSE's engineering division manufactures prefabricated steel bridges, deck machinery, and marine pumps. The company has achieved significant milestones, including the delivery of over 100 warships and securing major contracts like the Indian Navy's Next Generation Corvettes project, valued at over ₹25,000 crore.
