The Footwear Design and Development Institute (FDDI) is a premier academic and training institution established in 1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Headquartered in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, FDDI was designated as an 'Institution of National Importance' under the FDDI Act, 2017. The institute specializes in the fields of footwear design, leather goods, fashion design, and retail management. FDDI offers comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and Master of Design (M.Des) degrees, across its 12 state-of-the-art campuses located in Noida, Fursatganj (Raebareli), Chennai, Kolkata, Rohtak, Chhindwara, Guna, Jodhpur, Ankleshwar, Banur, Patna, and Hyderabad. The institute conducts the All India Selection Test (AIST) annually for admissions. FDDI is renowned for its industry-oriented curriculum, modern infrastructure, and strong placement records, contributing significantly to the growth of the footwear, fashion, and retail sectors in India.
