DoR

The Department of Revenue (DoR) functions under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, and is responsible for the formulation and implementation of policies concerning direct and indirect taxes. It supervises two key statutory boards—the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). DoR manages tax collection, prevents tax evasion and smuggling, and oversees legal and policy frameworks related to revenue administration.
