DFS

The Department of Financial Services (DFS) is part of the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. It oversees banking, insurance, pension reforms, and financial inclusion initiatives. DFS regulates and formulates policies for public sector banks, private banks, non-banking financial companies, insurance firms, and pension funds. It also implements flagship programs such as Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, and provides administrative oversight to institutions like RBI, IRDAI, and pension regulators.
