ICMR

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is the apex body for the formulation, coordination, and promotion of biomedical research in India. Established in 1911 and functioning under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, ICMR supports and conducts research on communicable and non‑communicable diseases, reproduction, nutrition, immunology, and health systems. With a network of research institutes and centers, it plays a pivotal role in health policy development, public health preparedness, and the advancement of medical science in India.
