The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is a government agency under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It is responsible for formulating and implementing India’s Foreign Trade Policy, issuing import/export licenses (IEC), monitoring trade performance, and promoting exports. DGFT also administers schemes like the Advance Authorization Scheme, Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) Scheme, and provides advisory services to support exporters and importers in international trade.
