

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh is the highest judicial authority in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Originally established in 1954 with its principal seat at Guntur, the court was relocated to Hyderabad in 1956 following the merger of Andhra State and Hyderabad State to form Andhra Pradesh. Post the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad served as the common High Court for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Subsequently, a separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh was established on 1 January 2019, with its principal seat at Amaravati. The court exercises original, appellate, and extraordinary jurisdiction over the state and comprises a sanctioned strength of 37 judges.
