KVAFSU Faculty Recruitment 2026 Introduction

The Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU), Bidar has released its major employment notification for the KVAFSU Faculty Recruitment 2026. This much awaited recruitment drive is for the recruitment of total 96 teaching vacancies in different constituent colleges and research stations of the state. Karnataka govt is inviting online applications for the prestigious posts of Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor in Govt. Medical College from 22nd May 2026. This recruitment is a golden opportunity for the eligible candidates having Masters with NET or Ph. D. in related veterinary, dairy and fisheries sciences. The available posts are distributed in both the Kalyana Karnataka Cadre (371-J) and Residual Parent Cadre with excellent UGC/ICAR scale of pay up to Rs. 2,18,200. Eligibility & Experience Criteria for teaching jobs Karnataka

Professor: Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied discipline. - Bachelor’s & Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST). - Minimum 10 years of Teaching/Research/Extension experience, including at least 2 years of experience as an Associate Professor. - Minimum of 10 research publications in NAAS-rated/UGC-listed journals. Associate Professor: Ph.D. degree in the relevant discipline. - Bachelor’s & Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST). - Minimum 8 years of experience as an Assistant Professor or equivalent in Teaching/Research/Extension. - Minimum of 7 publications in NAAS-rated/UGC-listed journals. Assistant Professor: Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST). - Cleared NET conducted by ICAR/ASRB/UGC/CSIR or possess a Ph.D. degree (exempted from NET as per regulations). - Additional Mandatory Requirements: * Candidates applying for Veterinary Sciences disciplines must upload a valid Karnataka Veterinary Council (KVC) or Veterinary Council of India (VCI) registration certificate. - Knowledge of the Kannada language is required (candidates may need to pass a compulsory Kannada language examination unless exempted).

Age Limit for KVAFSU teaching jobs

Age Limit (Applicable only for Assistant Professor posts) - General Merit (UR): 40 years - Cat-2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: 43 years - SC, ST, and Cat-I: 45 years Note: There is no upper age limit specified for the posts of Professor and Associate Professor.

The Compulsory Kannada Language Test (150 Marks) for Associate Professor job

Proficiency in Kannada is mandatory for all teaching jobs at KVAFSU. - If you have not studied Kannada as first, second or third language in your SSLC (10th standard) or equivalent board exam, you have to pass Compulsory Kannada Language Examination conducted by the university. - The paper is of 150 marks and candidates have to score a minimum of 50 marks (33.3%) to qualify. If you do not pass this test, you will not be able to be interviewed even if you have a good academic merit score.
