The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, NPCIL, has officially released a fresh recruitment notification inviting online applications for 255 vacancies at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project, Tamil Nadu. The vacancies of NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee include both current (208) and backlog (47) seats distributed across the following disciplines. 1. plant operator: 136 vacancies. 2. Electrician: 47 vacancies 3. Fitter: 30 vacancies 4. Electronics mechanic: 15 vacancies 5. Instrumentation mechanic: 15 vacancies 6. Turner: 5 vacancies 7. Machinist: 5 vacancies 8. Welder: 2 vacancies.

Eligibility criteria and educational qualification

The eligibility criteria for NPCIL stipendiary trainee recruitment are measured as of the cutoff date June 29, 2026. 1. For plant operator: The Candidate must have passed a higher secondary certificate or intermediate school certificate in the science stream with physics, chemistry and mathematics. - Minimum 50% marks in aggregate is mandatory. - English must have been a subject at the SSC (10th standard) level. 2. For other trades (electrician, fitter, mechanics, etc.) - Candidate must have passed SSC (10th standard) with a minimum of 50% marks each in science and mathematics individually. - A two year ITI certificate in the relevant trade is required. Age limit and relaxations: Age bracket - 18 to 24 years (as of June 29, 2026) Upper age relaxations: - OBC non creamy layer - 3 years - SC/ST: 5 years - PwBD (person with benchmark disabilities): 10 to 15 yrs.

Stipend and salary structure of government jobs in psu

The NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee jobs selected candidates will undergo a compulsory two year training programme. - First year stipend: Rupees 20,000 per month. - Second year stipend: Rupees 22,000 per month. - Book Allowance: a one-time grant of Rs 3000 Post-training absorption: Successful completion of training requires at least 60% marks in assessments. Trainees will be absorbed as regular technicians/B in pay level 3. The starting basic pay will be 21,700 per month, making the approximate gross monthly emoluments around Rs 34,720 (including dearness allowance and other perks). The online registration process for General, OBC (non-creamy layer) and EWS male candidates stands closed after payment of a non-refundable application fee of Rs 100. Science (Stage 1) Questions are prepared heavily from foundational physics, chemistry, and life sciences concepts: Physics: Units & Dimensions, Motion, Work, Energy & Power, Gravitation, Electricity, Magnetism, Optics (Light reflection/refraction), Heat & Thermodynamics. Chemistry: Atoms & Molecules, Elements, Periodic Table Classification, Chemical Reactions & Equations, Acids, Bases & Salts, Metals & Non-Metals, and Organic Chemistry basics. Biology: Life Processes, Cell Structure, Plant & Animal Kingdom basics, Nutrition, Human Physiology, Health & Diseases. 3. General Awareness (Stage 1): Current Affairs (National & International events)Indian History, Culture, and Geography Constitution of India & Polity Indian Economy Sports, Awards & Honours Basic Science & Technology breakthroughs 4. Advanced Trade/Discipline Test (Stage 2) The syllabus for this stage is split based on the explicit post you choose: For Plant Operator: The standard is strictly mapped to the 10+2 (HSC/ISC) Science curriculum, with advanced questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. For ITI Maintainer Trades (Electrician, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Mechanics, Welder): The syllabus centres around the standard Directorate General of Training (DGT) / NCVT trade theory. Topics include: Trade Safety & Health Regulations Hand Tools & Precision Measuring Instruments Electrician: DC/AC Machines, Transformers, Wiring systems, Earthing, Electrical Instruments. Fitter/Machinist: Lathe Machine operations, Drilling, Milling, Grinding, Welding techniques, Blueprint reading, and Metallurgy.

Strict Performance Clause During NPCIL Training

Getting selected as NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee does not automatically guarantee permanent government jobs in psu. Stipendiary candidates are continuously monitored throughout the 2-year training period. You must secure a minimum of 60% marks in the final assessments conducted at the end of the training. Trainees scoring less than 60% will have their training terminated and will not be absorbed into regular service as a Technician/B.

Service Bond Terms & Breach Penalty

Because the Government of India invests heavily in your technical and nuclear safety training, a mandatory Service Bond is executed at the time of joining. - Bond Value: Rs 5,07,000/- backed by an Indemnity Bond or Bank Guarantee. - Service Period: You must commit to serve NPCIL for at least 5 years after successfully completing your 2-year training programme. - Breach Policy: If you leave the organisation before completing the 5-year post-training service, you (or your sureties) are legally required to repay the entire stipend and book allowance received during the training period.

Specific Medical & Physical Standards of Stipendiary Trainee jobs

Working at a Nuclear Power Plant requires meeting defined physical fitness standards, which will be strictly checked during the pre-employment medical examination: - Minimum Height: 160 cm - Minimum Weight: 45.5 kg - Vision: 6/6 in one eye and up to 6/9 in the other eye without glasses.
